Eastward: Design Works update 📖

First of all, a thank you to all of our wonderful backers out there who have purchased, shared, or spoke about our Eastward: Design Works book. We are extremely grateful to you all for the kind words and keen interest you show in the work that we do.

When we last updated you, all of the written content for the book was complete and we were laying out the text and imagery to bring it all to life! Since then, we have made some exciting developments: the pin badges are now in hand — check out the images below to see Sam and co. in pin badge form! Our book plates are now signed, having been on a journey to Japan, Shanghai, and back again! Progress has also been made on our deluxe extras, with most of them now being printed in readiness for shipping.

Although a lot of progress has been made, we are going to be taking more time than originally planned in order to make sure that the finished Eastward: Design Works is the best it can be. We only get one shot at this, so a bit of added time is important to us to suitably tell the story of Eastward’s development and to showcase the wonderful artwork/sketches in all its glory. As a fan first and foremost, I want to make sure that this is the most complete book available on Eastward. Having worked so closely with the Chucklefish and Pixpil team for some time now, it is so important to us that we do them justice with this book. With that in mind, we are working towards a shipping date in January.

We will keep you up to date in the coming weeks and months as we move ever closer to getting the finished Eastward: Design Works book into your hands!

I’d like to take this opportunity to shine a light on the brilliant teams at Chucklefish and Pixpil who have been incredible to work with — patient, considerate, and so supportive.

Finally, we’d like to thank you all for supporting the work we do, and for affording us the opportunities to celebrate some of the latest and greatest games around.

Shaun, Project Director
